Meet the Director and Team — Otolaryngology Residency at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital
Welcome from the Program Director
Welcome to St. Elizabeth Boardman Otolaryngology residency. I am proud to present a newly ACGME Continued Accreditation AOBOO-HNS program located in Youngstown, Ohio and part of Mercy Health, the largest hospital system in Ohio. We have designed a ground-up approach to a new program that is focused on health care today in a changing medical education environment with special emphasis on training the next generation of Otolaryngologist. As you progress through the residency you will have an opportunity to experience excellent medical education through hands-on resident-focused clinical, surgical, and education services at multiple Mercy campuses and University Hospital of Cleveland. Our dedicated faculty will emphasize the clinical and surgical skills you will need to become the future of the profession, whether it be through a practicing Otolaryngologist or the pursuit of fellowship upon completion of your residency.
Our facilities include full time audiologist, speech pathology, four separate clinical sites, and we cover three Emergency Departments in two counties including facial trauma call at a Level 1 Trauma center. We have taken great strides to focus on the resident experience as we build what we believe to be the future of medical education in a rapidly changing environment with close relationships to ACGME surgical residency as well as limited out rotations in intensive Neurotology and Head and Neck Oncology.
I am looking for the very special residents to shape, grow, and succeed in the mission of St. Elizabeth Boardman Otolaryngology. Please contact our program coordinator for any questions or to step up an audition rotation.
