The faculty are committed to resident education – ensuring excellent clinical training and scholarship, with a focus on resident wellness within a supportive close-knit community of providers. We are committed to developing physicians prepared to care for an ever-changing adult population, within a dynamic healthcare system.

Our goal is to graduate exceptionally confident and capable internists who are prepared for future success in multiple career pathways – whether that be subspecialty training, hospital medicine or primary care. We support our trainees in research and quality improvement projects and encourage residents to have a voice in the operations and design of their own program. We create resilient, fulfilled physicians through a focus on wellness, professional communication, and team-based care.

Well-being is a key factor in training capable and compassionate physician leaders. Our rotation schedule and curriculum have been developed to provide robust clinical and educational experiences while also being designed to allow work-life balance and develop leadership skills to approach the future with resilience and mindfulness.

We are committed to excellence in Graduate Medical Education. To that end, we have created a brand-new renovated office space for our residency clinic, as well as administrative space on the campus of Mercy Fairfield Hospital.
