St. Rita's announces Mercy Health - St. Rita's Neuroscience Institute
(LIMA; May 9, 2017) St. Rita’s Health Partners is proud to announce the opening of the Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Neuroscience Institute that will provide comprehensive and world-class care to patients. The Institute had its official welcome ceremony and ribbon cutting on Tuesday, May 9.
St. Rita’s leadership, St. Rita's Neuroscience Institute team members and Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce will be in attendance.
Founded on St. Rita’s mission to improve the health of our communities, the Institute provides a team of physicians, providers, and teams, all aligned to achieve world-class neuro outcomes. Leaders in neurology, neurosurgery, pain management, spine, physical medicine and rehabilitation, athletic training and behavioral health work together to provide the most advanced quality care to patients.
“There are many areas and teams at our medical center that work together to provide care to patients with neurologic impairments,” said Dr. Matthew Owens, medical director of Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Neuroscience Institute. “By establishing the Institute, it’s bringing everyone together to provide comprehensive care to those in our community.”
The teams will be led by Dr. Owens and Tomasz Jankowski, director of Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Neuroscience Institute. The two will oversee operations and clinical staff. They are also proud to offer the St. Rita’s Neuroscience and Rehabilitation Center – a newly renovated space for care delivery. This space provides collaborative care between neurology, pain management and physical medicine and rehabilitation providers. Adjacent to this space is the St. Rita’s Ambulatory Surgery Center, where procedures to reduce pain are performed; and outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapy services are performed in close proximity as well. All of the above are performed in one centralized space which brings value to the patient experience.
“We are proud to bring advanced neurological care to those in our Lima and surrounding communities,” said Dale Gisi, president of Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center. “We have a strong team of professionals coming together, that will provide the comprehensive care our patients need close to home.”
