Aqua Fit
Our Aqua Fit class takes components from aerobics, strength, and stretching and applies them to the water. Get a total body workout and increase your overall health in this 45-minute class. Enjoy the comfort of our pool while working at your own pace, getting in a vigorous workout, while also being gentler on your body. This class is suitable for everyone, no matter what stage you are at in your fitness.
Aqua Stretch
Join us for this gentle and low impact activity that takes the principles and movement of yoga and adapts them to a new environment, the water. The water of our pool is heated, allowing participants to truly enjoy its therapeutic benefits. The feeling of weightlessness in the water takes the stress out of the body, as well as allows participants to find that optimum stretch. This inviting environment can allow participants to find greater range of motion, as well as increase muscle flexibility. Focusing on our breath throughout the class will allow us to enhance our relaxation.
Cardio + Strength Circuit
Our Cardio + Strength studio class is designed for each participant to start where he or she is at, and grow in strength and balance with each workout. This 50-minute class will begin with a dynamic warm-up, then flow into a series of exercises that will work the entire body, ending in a static stretch cool-down.
Gentle Stretch
This 45-minute studio class is designed for EVERY body. Its purpose is to allow participants to soothe the body and mind through gentle movement and breath. Participants will move into relaxing poses and stretches that build strength, flexibility, and balance within their bodies. Modifications will be given, and props will be used to assist when needed, allowing optimal comfort. The goal of the class is for participants to leave feeling taller, more fluid in your movement, and with a sense of inner peace and wellness.
Occupational Therapy Driver Rehabilitation Program
The Occupational Therapy Driver Rehabilitation Program at Mercy Health is designed to evaluate and remediate driver performance skills for individuals impacted by a neurological, orthopedic or developmental conditions or age-related changes. Our nationally certified driver rehabilitation specialist is also an occupational therapist with a background in medical and psychiatric conditions that may impact driving performance. The driver evaluation includes a clinical assessment of vision, perception, cognition and physical function.
Our state-of-the-art driving simulator provides objective valid and reliable data on driver performance skills. Driver rehabilitation using simulation is designed to target specific skills that have been identified on clinical assessments. An evaluation behind the wheel in the Mercy Health modified vehicle with dual controls is used to evaluate and improve driver performance skills behind the wheel on the road. Both the driving simulator and the vehicle are equipped with vehicle modifications for evaluation and treatment should the driver require the use of adaptive driving equipment.
To participate in the program, request a physicians referral requesting an “Occupational Therapy Driving Evaluation and Training” that includes diagnosis & contact information be sent electronically or faxed. We will contact you upon receiving the referral.
