Cigna Contract Negotiations

We want to ensure we can continue to offer you and your family the high-quality care you expect and deserve, which is why we are sharing an important update regarding current negotiations with Cigna that may affect you or your loved ones.

As of April 1, 2025, commercially insured patients with Cigna insurance remain in network for Mercy Health providers as part of a multi-year agreement.

What Does This Mean? 

If you have a Cigna commercial health plan (meaning you participate in your employer’s health plan) you can continue to see Mercy Health providers at in-network rates. 

Mercy Health hospitals, physicians, urgent cares, surgery centers and all other care sites are considered in the Cigna network. 

We understand that the possibility of Mercy Health being out of network was incredibly difficult for many of our patients. Our goal has always been to have long-term, equitable agreements with major payers so our patients can have seamless access to quality care in their communities. 

We remain focused on continuing to invest in the health and well-being of the communities we serve. We look forward to serving you for years to come.

• Mercy Health practices and hospitals are still considered in-network as of April 1 for patients who live in Ohio and who have Cigna as their employer-sponsored (*commercial) insurance. 
• There has been no outage in care – we’re grateful to have remained in network for our patients during our negotiations with Cigna.
• As a ministry, our goal is to establish long-term agreements with all major insurance payers, like Cigna, so we can deliver high-quality health care to patients in the communities we serve. 
• This new agreement with Cigna helps us continue to do so.
