TIFFIN, OH – After nearly a year of construction, Mercy Health is excited to unveil additional labor and delivery space within Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital Family Birthing Center.

The $3.1 million expansion added three additional rooms to the hospital’s labor and delivery unit, allowing for additional space for mothers, newborns and their families. Each year, nearly 800 families receive care within the private, home-like accommodations of the birthing center.

“This expansion demonstrates Mercy Health’s commitment to serving our community’s families and we are excited that we can now provide the highest level of care to even more mothers during this special time,” said Andrew Morgan, president, Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital. “Mercy Health has had a century-long legacy of caring for the region. This expansion is another opportunity to evolve and respond to the needs of our community as we commit to providing quality care long into the future.”

Expertly trained labor and delivery teams ensure that mothers and babies receive the highest level of care throughout their stay. Additionally, our private rooms are equipped with the most advanced equipment to ensure the safety of mother and baby.

For families who require a higher level of care, there will be a seamless transition of care in partnership with Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, a Level IV regional perinatal health care center, where the most complex maternal conditions are treated.

“I have been privileged to care for women throughout their pregnancy journey and am excited that Mercy Health has invested in building more space where our families can welcome new additions,” said Dr. Carmen Doty-Armstrong, Mercy Health obstetrics and gynecology. “Our patients are at the heart of everything we do, and we look forward to continuing to provide high-quality and compassionate care to our new moms and families.”
