Mercy Health is proud to announce that three Mercy Health hospitals have once again earned rankings among healthcare providers and insurers in Modern Healthcare’s 2025 Best Places to Work award program.
Mercy Health – Willard Hospital was ranked number 24; Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital was ranked number 73; and Mercy Health – Defiance Hospital appeared Best Places to Work list at 40. This is the fifth consecutive year that Mercy Health’s hospitals in Tiffin and Willard were named on this list and the second time Mercy Health- Defiance Hospital has been recognized.
“I’m honored to congratulate the teams at Tiffin, Willard and Defiance for once again earning this national recognition. This distinction shows the pride our associates have in the work they do providing the highest quality and most compassionate care to our communities,” said Bob Baxter, president, Mercy Health – Toledo. “Although healthcare remains a challenging profession throughout the nation, these Mercy Health associates prove that caring for others is not only meaningful but rewarding.”
The complete list of this year’s winner rankings is available at ModernHealthcare.com/bestplacestowork (digital subscription is required). Modern Healthcare published a special supplement featuring the ranked list of all winners in the Oct. 2 issue of Modern Healthcare magazine.
“This is the fifth consecutive year the teams at Tiffin Hospital and Willard Hospital have been recognized for the compassion and respect they show to our patients and each other," said Andrew Morgan, president, Mercy Health – Tiffin and Mercy Health - Willard. “Being named among Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work since 2019 continues to be incredibly meaningful because it truly reflects how engaged our teams feel about the care they deliver.”
“Not only did Mercy Health – Defiance Hospital once again earn a spot on the Best Places to Work list but the team jumped in the ranking from 73 to 40. This recognition coupled with recent quality awards are a source of pride for all of us who serve the Defiance community,” said Sonya Selhorst, president, Mercy Health – Defiance Hospital. “I am so thankful to all the leaders, physicians, nurses and all team members who make Mercy Health – Defiance Hospital a great place to work and an amazing place to receive care.”
Modern Healthcare partnered with the Best Companies Group on the assessment process, which includes an extensive employee survey. While this program has evolved over the years, its mission remains the same: recognizing workplaces that empower employees to provide patients and customers the best possible care, products and services.
As the healthcare industry sits squarely on the frontlines of global health issues, the mission of the Best Places to Work program has only become more important. Healthcare leaders have proven that creating nurturing, supportive workplaces for their most valuable asset, their employees, is vital.
