Mercy Health’s commitment to offer a smooth transition for patients and providers of McLaren St. Luke’s continues, most recently as we welcome 23 providers from the WellCare Physicians Group to the ministry. The providers will transition to Mercy Health effective June 1.
As part of the transition, Mercy Health is introducing new names for the practices. At this time, each practice will remain at its current location to continue caring for area patients.
“Mercy Health is excited to welcome several of our area’s finest physicians to our ministry. We understand that they have entrusted us with their future, and it is a privilege that we don’t take lightly,” said Bob Baxter, president, Mercy Health – Toledo. “These past few months have been difficult for many as we have had to say goodbye to a trusted health care partner in our community. Mercy Health is committed to filling that gap with compassionate, efficient, and high-quality care.”
“Our goal is to provide a seamless transition not only for area patients but also for the providers who have served as health care leaders in our community,” added Dr. James Tita, chief clinical officer, Mercy Health – Toledo. “The Mercy Health medical community is pleased to welcome these providers to our ministry and we look forward to continuing to build access to top-quality care throughout the region.”

Started in 1896, the Mercy Health – St. Vincent Graduate Medical Education program has a proven record of building the medical field within the community as about 25 percent of graduates of our medical education programs remain in the region to care for patients.
