Mercy Health is proud to announce that three Mercy Health hospitals have earned rankings among health care providers and insurers in Modern Healthcare’s 2022 Best Places to Work award program.
Mercy Health – Willard Hospital was ranked number 15, which is up from last year’s 39th place; Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital was ranked number 50, which is up from the 2021 ranking of 60; and Mercy Health – Defiance Hospital made its debut on the Best Places to Work list at 75. This is the fourth consecutive year that Mercy Health’s hospitals in Tiffin and Willard were named on this list.
“The associates at these three hospitals not only remain committed to providing the highest quality of care to our community but prove time and again that they are extremely proud of where they work. I am grateful for all of these hard-working team members and all Mercy Health associates who live the mission of our ministry every day,” said Bob Baxter, president of Mercy Health – Toledo. “Once again, I want to congratulate the leaders, physicians and all associates at our rural hospitals who together made this honor possible.”
The complete list of this year’s winner rankings is available at ModernHealthcare.com/bestplacestowork (digital subscription is required). Modern Healthcare will publish a special supplement featuring the ranked list of all winners published with the Oct. 3 issue of Modern Healthcare magazine.
“For the past four years, and during some of the most difficult times in health care, the teams at Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital and Mercy Health – Willard Hospital have been recognized with this national distinction,” said Andrew Morgan, interim president of Mercy Health – Tiffin and Mercy Health - Willard. “Being on this list and rising in the ranking is such an honor for all at both Tiffin and Willard hospitals.”
“Being named for the first time on the Best Places to Work is incredibly meaningful for Mercy Health – Defiance Hospital because it reflects the pride our teams feel for the work they do,” said Sonya Selhorst, interim president of Mercy Health – Defiance Hospital. “Caring for our patients remains at the heart of what we do, and we continue to love where we work because we love the communities we serve.”
Modern Healthcare partnered with the Best Companies Group on the assessment process, which includes an extensive employee survey. While this program has evolved over the years, its mission remains the same: recognizing workplaces that empower employees to provide patients and customers the best possible care, products and services.
As the health care industry sits squarely on the frontlines of global health issues, the mission of the Best Places to Work program has only become more important. Health care leaders have proven that creating nurturing, supportive workplaces for their most valuable asset, their employees, is vital.
"Employees at health care organizations from all sectors of the industry have been the driving force behind the collaboration and effort that led the healthcare industry and the country through the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. The tireless leaders at the organizations we honor with the 2022 Best Places to Work Awards have stood by their employees throughout an extremely challenging time and remained committed to humanizing the patient experience. They have built and nurtured supportive, engaging, flexible and fun workplaces that meet and exceed the needs of today’s workers. Their success is an inspiration and model for building a more productive, creative health care workforce and a better health care system in which patients are the ultimate beneficiaries,” said Fawn Lopez, publisher of Modern Healthcare. “We congratulate all of the Best Places to Work in Health care for their commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of their employees and the communities they serve."
