Mercy Health — Perrysburg Emergency Department is pleased to have been awarded the Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award for Patient Satisfaction.
This award honors Mercy Health — Perrysburg Emergency Department for reaching the 95th percentile for patient experience, engagement, or clinical quality performance. Guardian of Excellence Awards are awarded annually to clients who sustain performance in the top 5% for each reporting period for the award year.
Christopher Goliver, MD, noted that this recognition is a reflection of the team’s commitment to Mercy Health’s mission of treating the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. “Going to the ER is a stress on patients, and for some patients it’s the worst day of their lives. Our team recognizes the importance of providing a soothing, caring environment,” Dr. Goliver said. “The safety and satisfaction of our patients is at the core of the care we provide, and I’m pleased that our providers and staff have been recognized for their amazing work.”
Since opening in 2013, the Mercy Health — Perrysburg Emergency Department has placed a high priority on providing an exceptional patient experience. This most recent recognition was based on quarterly performance between May 2018 and April 2019.
In May, Mercy Health completed the expansion of the Perrysburg campus with the opening of a new hospital. The fully functioning community hospital joined the previously opened Mercy Health – Perrysburg Cancer Center and includes operating room suites, inpatient beds and medical offices, in addition to 24/7 Emergency Room, imaging and laboratory care.
In addition, Mercy Health has been a true partner with the Perrysburg community, supporting the Perrysburg Schools, local library, Perrysburg Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Perrysburg, Inc., Perrysburg Rotary, and City of Perrysburg/Perrysburg Convention & Visitors Bureau.
“Mercy Health is committed to serving the residents of Perrysburg and the surrounding communities in an environment that promotes health and healing right where they live and work,” said Bob Baxter, president, Mercy Health – Toledo & Lima. “Dr. Goliver and his team exemplify our mission of providing high quality, expert and compassionate care and we are honored to be recognized for their hard work.”
