“When it comes to breast cancer, early detection saves lives. 3D mammography offers the most advanced imaging to increase the detection of breast cancer,” said Sandy Michalski, director of Women’s and Children’s. “We now have this technology available to serve residents in the Perrysburg area.”
3D mammography uses x-rays to produce images of breast tissue in order to detect lumps, tumors or other abnormalities. Because it takes images at additional angles, a 3D mammogram is capable of producing more detailed images of breast tissue. This makes it easier for doctors to see if there’s anything to be concerned about. 3D Mammography is also available at these Mercy Health locations:
- Mercy Health - St. Anne
- Mercy Health - St. Charles
- Mercy Health - Perrysburg Hospital
