Mercy Health first in region to offer mammograms without a doctor’s order

Because early detection has led to a decrease in deaths from breast cancer, Mercy Health is excited to offer a self-referral program for annual mammogram screenings. Patients may request a mammogram without a doctor’s referral if women:

  • Are 40 years of age or older.

  • Do not show signs or symptoms of breast cancer.

  • Currently have a physician or healthcare provider to receive testing results.

Screening mammograms will be available at all Mercy Health Imaging Centers throughout the Toledo area.
