We’re four months away from the Mercy Health Glass City Marathon and already runners are lining up at registration. This year, don’t forget to sign up the whole family – including young runners for the Kids’ Marathon.

Race weekend commences on Saturday, April 22, 2017 with the Expo and Findley Davies Kids’ Marathon, which is open to those ages 2 to 12. The young runners can choose between a quarter mile, half mile, or full mile run (or all three!). The registration fee of $10 not only opens the door to good health, but participants receive a t-shirt, medal and teddy bear. And to make it even more enticing, children will know that they will be running to help other kids who are fighting illness.

Mercy Health – Children’s Administrator Barb Dianda-Martin and race director Clint McCormick recently announced that all money raised at this year’s kids’ race will go to Mercy Health – Children’s Hospital to help fund lifesaving technology for our youngest patients. The goal is to have 1,000 kids sign up. That’s a goal of $10,000 to help Mercy Health care for children.

Members of the Toledo Roadrunners club and Toledo Firefighters joined in the announcement and then handed out teddy bears to the children currently undergoing treatment at Mercy Health – Children’s Hospital.
