Mercy Health – Lourdes Hospital Accepting Student Applications for Future Physicians Program
Mercy Health - Lourdes Hospital seeks college students to participate in this year's Future Physicians Program. This program gives its participants an in-depth look into a career in medicine and hopes to inspire students to pursue this rewarding field. This summer program allows undergraduate, pre-medicine students to shadow physicians and advanced practice clinicians for a well-rounded experience. Participants are expected to gain over 150 hours of shadowing experience and will earn a $1,000 stipend upon completion of the program.
In order to apply, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program with a concentrated focus on pre-medicine
- Maintain a 3.5 GPA – please provide a copy of your current college transcript
- Be available for orientation on June 3, 2024 and July 23, 2024 for graduation ceremony
The dates for the Future Physicians Program 2024 are:
June 3 – June 7 Week #1
June 10 – June 14 Week #2
June 17 – June 21 Week #3
June 24 – June 28 Week #4
July 1 – July 5 Break for Holiday Week
July 8 – July 12 Week #5
July 15 – July 19 Week #6

- 250-word essay – Describe how specific aspects of Mercy Health’s core values align with your professional goals and personal attributes (mercy.com/about-us/mission/mission-values-promise)
- Two letters of reference, one must be from a professor or TA
