Mercy Health Lourdes Hospice Hosts Camp Robin for
Grieving Children and Teens
PADUCAH, KY, February 12, 2023 - Mercy Health Lourdes Hospice proudly announces Camp Robin, a free camp designed to support and educate children and teenagers coping with grief after losing a loved one. The camp will also extend its support to parents and guardians navigating the challenges of grief alongside their children.
Scheduled for April 20, 2024, from 9 AM to 2 PM at Southland Baptist Church, located at 927 Yarbro Ln., Paducah, KY, Camp Robin aims to empower children, teenagers, and their parents or guardians by equipping them with essential coping skills, encouraging self-discovery, and fostering a supportive community in their grief journey.
Camp Robin was named to honor a Lourdes Hospice patient who passed away in the fall of 2005; she died at the tender age of thirteen. Robin was a delightful young lady who shone with the characteristics of a winner. Robin cared for others so much that she put their needs before hers. She had a radiant love for her family, friends, and church; she showed strength, honor, and love in every aspect of her life. If Robin were in our presence, I am sure she would be pleased to know that her memory has been kept alive to help other children deal with grief and loss.
Camp Robin will offer a nurturing environment where participants can engage in various activities and workshops, allowing them to explore and develop new strengths as they navigate the complexities of grief. By fostering a safe and supportive space, the camp seeks to facilitate healing and provide valuable tools for both young individuals and their families.
