Paducah Cancer & Blood Center has joined Mercy Health-Lourdes Hospital. As part of the partnership, the practice will become Mercy Health – Paducah Medical Oncology and Hematology.
In 1988, William Larry Skinner, M.D., completed his training at MD Anderson Cancer Center and moved to Paducah to join Paducah Cancer & Blood Center. He was joined at the practice by Wederson Marcos Claudino, M.D., in 2016. Drs. Skinner and Claudino, as well as their staff, will be part of the practice’s transition to Mercy Health – Paducah Medical Oncology and Hematology.
“Our entire staff is devoted to providing excellent patient care and is looking forward to being associated with Mercy Health to further enhance services for Western Kentucky through this partnership,” Dr. Skinner said. “Partnering with Mercy Health will augment our current services and provide our region with a unique and unparalleled state-of-the-art and investigative approach to compassionately address the individual needs of each patient. Today’s announcement is the next step in our service to do just that. We were excited to learn of Mercy’s future plans for cancer care and are just as excited to be part of making those plans a reality.”
“Our new partnership with Lourdes and Mercy could not make for a better fit,” Dr. Claudino agreed. “As we discussed the arrangement it became clear to us that we had the same vision for cancer and hematology in our region. The benefits of this merger both today and the near future will be many as we continue providing care throughout the community. Additionally, our patients will be pleased to see the same faces and to receive the same level of care to which they’ve been accustomed.”
