Mercy Health – Allen Hospital Earns 2024 Performance Leadership Award from The Chartis Center for Rural Health

OBERLIN, OH (December 16, 2024)– Mercy Health – Allen Hospital today announced it has earned a 2024 Performance Leadership Award for excellence in Quality, Outcomes, and Patient Perspectives. Compiled by The Chartis Center for Rural Health, the Performance Leadership Awards recognize top quartile performance (i.e., 75thpercentile or above) among rural hospitals in all three of the Performance Leadership Award categories.

“Mercy Health – Allen Hospital is honored to receive the Chartis Center for Rural Health Performance Leadership Award for the second year in a row. Our Mission calls us to extend the compassionate ministry of Jesus by improving the health and well-being of our communities and bring good help to those in need, especially people who are poor, dying and underserved. This award recognizes our commitment to quality, outcomes and patient perspectives, as well as the hard work of our dedicated team who work tirelessly to fulfill our mission and deliver high quality, compassionate care to our patients every day,” said Carrie Jankowski, president of Mercy Health – Allen Hospital.

The Performance Leadership Awards are based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX®, a comprehensive and objective framework for assessing how rural hospitals are performing. INDEX benchmarks are relied upon by rural hospitals, health systems with rural footprints, hospital associations, and state offices of rural health to measure performance across multiple areas impacting hospital operations and finance.

“The Performance Leadership Awards capture the commitment, diligence, and innovation with which America’s rural hospitals approach the delivery of care within their communities,” said Troy Brown, Network Consultant, The Chartis Center for Rural Health. “It’s a tremendous honor to be able to recognize the efforts of this year’s award winners and celebrate their achievement as part of National Rural Health Day.”
