St. Rita’s to offer free blood pressure screenings at Delphos VFW
On Friday, August 25, Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center will offer free blood pressure screenings to the public. The event will take place at the Delphos VFW located at: 213 W. 4th St., Delphos, Ohio 45833 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. No preregistration is required.
Blood pressure screenings will be performed by St. Rita’s oncology nurses. Blood pressure screenings are important because high blood pressure can show no symptoms and can only be detected through proper measurement. Screenings can also help build awareness about what can happen to the vessels and heart, increasing the risk for heart attack and stroke.
“At St. Rita’s, part of our Mission is to improve the health of our communities,” said Suzie Warnecke, oncology nurse navigator at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center. “These screenings stand true to our Mission, and we look forward to offering blood pressure screenings to those in Delphos and the communities we serve.”
Coupled with blood pressure screenings, will be the opportunity for oncology nurses to provide an awareness of the CT Lung Screening availability to those who qualify and prompt a notification to providers of those individuals interested. The CT Lung Screening can assist with early detection of lung cancer before symptoms present.
St. Rita’s looks forward to this event and serving Delphos and surrounding communities.
