St. Rita’s to Host 2017 Cardiovascular Symposium
(LIMA; April 5, 2017) Continuing education in healthcare is important. On Thursday, April 6, St. Rita’s Health Partners will host the 2017 Cardiovascular Symposium. More than 300 healthcare professionals who care for patients with heart conditions will come together for a day filled with unique and informational sessions. The symposium will take place from 7 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Civic & Convention Center located at 7 Town Square, Lima, Ohio 45801.
Speakers include cardiologists and medical professionals from St. Rita’s Health Partners. Dr. Aimee K. Armstrong, Director of Cardiac Catheterization & Interventional Therapies at Nationwide Children’s Hospital will also be presenting. Dr. Armstrong was part of a team who recently performed Ohio's First Fetal Heart Procedure.
“I am excited to speak at the St. Rita’s Cardiovascular Symposium and to share my experiences with others in the field of cardiology,” Dr. Armstrong said. “It’s important that we as healthcare professionals collaborate and educate one another to better serve our patients and communities.”
Another speaker who is honored to present and represent St. Rita’s team of cardiologists is Dr. Hemraj Makwana. He will be discussing atrial septal defect and patent foramen ovale (ASD/PFO).
“Being able to present at this symposium is always an honor,” said Dr. Makwana. “I’m happy to share my experiences with other professionals, and hope that they will walk away from each presentation with a piece of new information.”
