St. Rita's hosting weekly Parkinson's Exercise Program

(Lima, May 3, 2016) St. Ritas Health Partners will host weekly Parkinsons Exercise Programs beginning in May and running thru November. This program will be available twice a week, with one program taking place in Lima and the other in Putnam County. This program is both LSVT BIG and Delay the Disease certified. LSVT BIG training increases limb and body movement in individuals with Parkinsons disease, while also improving speed, balance and quality of life. Delay the Disease is a fitness program designed to empower people with Parkinsons disease to take control of the disease with daily exercise.

St. Ritas program features exercise and education that will help slow down Parkinsons symptoms. The program focuses on:
  • Strengthening
  • Flexibility and range of motion
  • Walking and balance
  • Swallowing and speech issues
  • Safety with daily activities
  • Adaptive equipment
  • Other helpful services and topics
Lima Parkinsons Exercise Program When: Every Wednesday running from May 4 to November 23 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Where: St. Ritas Medical Auxiliary Conference Center, 718 W. Market St., Lima, Ohio 45801

Putnam County Parkinsons Exercise Program When: Every Thursday running from May 5 to November 17 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.Where: Putnam County YMCA, 101 Putnam Pkwy, Ottawa, Ohio 45875
