Bluffton Airport to receive AED
(Lima, August 1, 2016) St. Ritas Health Partners will be donating an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to Bluffton Airport in Bluffton, Ohio.
The donation will be taking place at the Bluffton Airport Office at 1080 Navajo Dr., Bluffton, on Wednesday, August 3 at 10 a.m.AEDs are portable devices that check the heart rhythm and are used to treat sudden cardiac arrest. These devices come equipped with instructions and can be used by bystanders who witness a sudden cardiac arrest.
According to the American Heart Association, AEDs can be used by nonmedical people. They can be made part of emergency response programs that also include rapid use of 9-1-1 and prompt delivery of cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). All three of these activities are vital to improving survival from cardiac arrest.
