Mercy Health’s Employee Giving Campaign Breaks Records
Thanks to the generosity of Mercy Health employees, Mercy Health Foundation’s annual employee giving campaign broke the giving record set last year.
The annual campaign, named Mercy Strong: The Power of Care, ran for one week in October and gave Mercy Health’s Cincinnati-based employees the opportunity to support mission-based causes important to them. These included workplace projects, community organizations and the Sister Kathy Green Legacy Fund, which Mercy Health Foundation created in honor of Mercy Health’s late Chief Mission Officer to benefit a wide array of Mercy Health and community organizations’ outreach programs
This year’s campaign saw a 13% increase in employee donors and a 48% increase in donations. Coupled with matching corporate gifts, a new component added this year, the total impact of Mercy Strong’s 2017 campaign totals $907,396. The money benefits a number of Greater Cincinnati programs, including:
- Mercy Health’s healthcare clinics for the poor and underserved
- Mercy Health Physicians’ Health Partnership Program, which subsidizes doctor visits, pharmaceuticals and diagnostic tests for those who can’t afford them
- Mercy Health’s opiate addiction initiatives
- emergency assistance and community outreach programs
- The United Way of Greater Cincinnati
- Butler County United Way
- ArtsWave
“We are grateful to our Cincinnati-based employees for being Mercy Strong,” said Jon Labbe, President, Mercy Health Foundation – Cincinnati. “They are improving lives every day as they extend our healing ministry through their work. We are proud of their commitment to serving thousands more through their charitable gifts. Mercy Health is blessed to have an inspired workforce that believes in our Mission and embraces the opportunity to make Mercy Health stronger.”
In 2018, Mercy Health will be its expanding employee giving campaign across the entire ministry to leverage the caring power of 34,000 employees and to nurture a culture in which giving back is central to what Mercy Health is as a Catholic healthcare organization.
