The Jewish Hospital - Mercy Health Offers Twice Monthly Walk with a Doc Sessions at Kenwood Towne Center in December

Mercy Health - Cincinnati, which provides advanced, compassionate, quality care in your neighborhood through its care network, announces that The Jewish Hospital continues its free Walk with a Doc program at Kenwood Towne Center with two sessions in December.

This month, the popular walks take place every other Thursday from 8-9 a.m. at the mall to accommodate expanded holiday shopping hours. The mall is located at 7875 Montgomery Road. Walkers will meet at The Jewish Hospital’s Walk with a Doc booth located in front of Anthropologie near Nordstrom’s inside entrance. New walkers get a free t-shirt and a pedometer to log their steps.

Mercy Health Physician and sleep specialist Sanjiv Patel, MD, who practices from Mercy Health – Fairfield Sleep Medicine and Mercy Health - Pulmonary, Sleep & Critical Care, leads the Thursday, December 7 walk from 8-9 a.m. He will discuss insomnia and sleep hygiene, a term which describes practices that promote good quality sleep.

Mercy Health Physician and cardiologist Donald Wayne, MD, who practices from Mercy Health – The Heart Institute locations in Kenwood and Rookwood, leads the Thursday, December 21 walk from 8-9 a.m. He will discuss living with heart failure.

Led by a variety of physicians and other health professionals representing a wide array of health, wellness and fitness-related expertise, the walks start with a brief and informative talk on the doctor’s area of specialty before walking.

The program is free and does not require pre-registration.

“Many area residents have added The Jewish Hospital’s Walk with a Doc series to their calendars because of the opportunities the popular series gives them to learn about a wide variety of health topics directly from experts. At the same time, they get to build exercise into their day,” said Pat Davis-Hagens, Mercy Health Central Market President and CEO of The Jewish Hospital. “We’ve always got room for more people to take part and we invite you to join us!”

Mercy Health - Cincinnati will announce future walks and details will also be available at the Walk with a Doc website, www.walkwithadoc.org. If you miss a walk, Mercy Health - Cincinnati is live streaming the walks on its Facebook pages (search for “Mercy Health – Cincinnati”), with the videos also available to watch any time at your convenience.
