Overview
At Mercy Health, we are committed to protecting and improving the health of you and your family. For your children, pediatric primary care is our first connection through our extensive network of pediatricians, primary care offices and family medicine clinics in every community we serve.
The first goal of pediatric family medicine is to keep children healthy before they get sick. Neonatal care ensures that your child gets off to a healthy start in life. We provide immunizations that help protect your child and others against diseases, starting in the first days of a baby’s life and extending into the teenage years.
Mercy Health pediatricians and family medicine doctors can help you set and keep a regular schedule of well-child visits. You should start those visits in an infant’s first week of life and set additional visits at one month, two months, four months, six months, nine months and 12 months. At that point, your pediatrician can recommend a visit schedule that meets your child’s healthcare needs and your busy schedule.
Regardless of your child’s age and developmental stage, we can help you recognize signs of health issues before they become serious. For example, when your child is 12 to 24 months old, our pediatric care includes evaluating physical growth, cognitive development, motor-skills development, and development of emotional, social and language skills.
