At Mercy Health, we know that being a child can be difficult. Our pediatric and adolescent mental health services can help you find the solution to behavioral health problems your child may be experiencing, easing some of the pressure of a high-stress world that never seems to slow down.
Our care includes child psychiatrists who will collaborate with your family doctor to help your child deal with the issues that arise from stress, anxiety or depression. In addition to individual therapy sessions with children of all ages, we can provide diagnostic assessment, family therapy and treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Our behavioral health services are integrated with emergency care, so a patient can be met quickly and compassionately in case a crisis arises.
It is normal for children to feel moody or sad. If those feeling persist for weeks or months, it may be a sign that your child is experiencing depression. This is relatively common – more than 8 out of every 100 teenagers experience serious depression. We can help you determine whether your child could benefit from medication, counseling or other services.
