I was born and raised in Lorain and returned to practice in 1996. I have been a practicing OB-GYN for 30 years. I was in private practice in Vermilion until joining Mercy in 2019. My wife, Maria, and I have nine children and one new grandson. I enjoy spending time with family, playing golf with my sons and boating.

	August 2024 I do highly recommend Dr. James Matheson Do. To women who are pregnant because he explains very well how your baby is going.

	June 2024 I really like my care provider. He has an outstanding bedside manner; that makes me feel safe and confident with his best interest in mind for me.
	May 2024 Dr Matheson was attentive and caring. He made me feel completely at ease. He spent a lot of time answering my questions.
	May 2024 I had to have an emergency C Section at Fairview so was not able to have Dr. Matheson as my delivering doctor. Through my entire pregnancy Dr. Matheson has been phenomenal and not short of amazing. He makes you feel comfortable and always makes sure you have no questions or concerns. I'm very thankful that I was able to have him for the short time that I did and for the care that I received.
	February 2024 Dr. Mathason always is informative and takes time to address concerns.
	January 2024 Doctor was amazing reviewed all my questions and made sure I had no additional questions or concerns! He was very compassionate
