St. Mary’s Behavioral Services offers help for those individuals who are experiencing problems with depressed mood (including postpartum depression), severe mood swings, suicidal thinking or behavior, sleep, eating problems and problems with relationships. Individualized care is provided in a warm, supportive environment.
Our Inpatient Treatment Programs for adults and seniors, located at St. Mary’s Medical Center Tower 4 and 1-Marian, are voluntary programs designed to help patients achieve their optimum level of functioning as well as emotional stability. Our Higher Ground and Bridges to Recovery Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs, located on 3 North, offer three different approaches to treatment:
- Dialectical behavioral therapy skills based treatment that teaches the core skills of mindfulness, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance.
- Chemical dependency treatment based on the 12-step model which, through the support of others, helps the individual obtain sobriety and provides the foundation for establishing a recovery lifestyle.
- Mental health treatment based upon the psychosocial model which, through supportive group work, provides the individual with disease education, coping skills and understanding of his/her own potential.
All programs include:
- Behavioral health assessment and evaluation
- Development of an individual treatment plan
- Medication stabilization and management
- Group and individual therapy
- Patient education
- Discharge and aftercare planning
