We are proud to introduce the Mercy Heart Institute, our region's premier cardiology program.
We've taken the legacy of the Baptist Heart Institute and St. Mary's heart program and partnered with East Tennessee Heart Consultants to create East Tennessee's premier cardiology center.
With 23 heart physicians, Mercy Heart Institute will have the largest, most experienced group of cardiologists in the region.
In addition, we'll offer the most sophisticated imaging, diagnostic and treatment technology available in medicine today, all under one roof. Well, three roofs actually, at three convenient locations: Mercy Medical Center St. Mary's, Mercy Medical Center West, and Mercy Medical Center North.
From education, diagnosis and emergency intervention, to treatment and rehabilitation, Mercy delivers advanced cardiac services and works to improve the health of our communities.
Mercy Relocates Open Heart Surgery to West Knoxville
The nationally recognized Baptist open heart surgery program is now located at Mercy Medical Center West. Open heart surgery completes the full array of cardiovascular services already available at the Stokely Heart Pavilion in this beautiful new facility. The pavilion features a full-service cardiology department including diagnostics, catheterization and stents, electrophysiology, and clinical cardiac research. Mercy Health Report - November
The nationally recognized Baptist Heart program has moved to Mercy Medical Center West. The cardiothoracic surgical team at Mercy Medical Center West prepared to perform its first open heart surgical procedure the first week of November, more than a month ahead of schedule.
